Mood: exhilarated, hopeful, loved
For those following (or just now picking up) the blog, move in day is...well hopefully...tomorrow. Otherwise tomorrow is going to be loading down 2 cars with packed boxes and bags. Then bright and early Labor day begins the actual moving process. Caitlyn and I have spent the last 2 days on the phone with Mom almost nonstop who has been packing both of our belongings into a van so that we have a complete apartment. I'm super thankful for her hard work for many reasons (she found a lost pair of Chanel sunglasses!!!!) one of which is my awesome pub table and chairs that can be used in a small space.
I'm also amazingly grateful that she'll be able to be with Caitlyn and I during such a big change in our lives. (To be fair to Dad it's only logistics...mainly dogs...keeping him from being here as well.) It's like moving into a college dorm...only this time I have TWO rooms and my own bathroom! In all seriousness, it's not the nicest apartment that I've ever lived in...but it's the first I've had that is unrelated to school that's all mine. That I'm not sharing with...anybody but my sister (and I'm quite happy with that).
If you don't know me very well...or don't know my past...I've never REALLY lived on my own. At college my apartment was a total of 5 girls. At seminary, while I had my "own" apartment, I mainly stayed either with my ex or he stayed with me at seminary. When that relationship ended and I had be swindled out of crazy amounts of money...I had no other choice but to move back in with my parents. So...even while I lived "on my own" I never really lived on my own. There was always somebody else there...and he shouldn't have been.
And here is where today's good thing comes in. Well...sort of. It's incredibly, almost insanely simple...but it was also intensely gratifying and wonderfully happy. I was (because I'm a nerd) watching Camp Rock 2...for the second night in a row...and I saw my phone light up out of the corner of my eye. Of course I had it on silent as I was enjoying a lovely Disney channel movie. But I happened to see it ring...and I HAD to answer.
"Young hearts
I believe that we are not far
From becoming who we truly are
Love is on its way
Dreamers
You see everything in color
While the world is getting darker
Love is on its way
So hold on another day
'Cause love is on its way
You'll find it's gonna be okay
'Cause love is on its way
It's alright you'll find a brighter day
'Cause love is on its way
Leaders
Show us how to love each other
It could help us to recover
Love is on its way
Lonely
I believe that you will find me
And together we will truly see
Love is on its way, yeah
So hold on another day
'Cause love is on its way
You'll find it's gonna be okay
'Cause love is on its way
It's alright you'll find a brighter day
'Cause love is on its way"
